With three of the team’s five roster moves involving injured players, fewer players were rehabbing on the sidelines.
The Kansas City Chiefs began the 15th practice of their 2021 training camp on Tuesday morning without five players who had been on the roster on Monday, announcing five moves to get their roster below the NFL limit of 85 in advance of Tuesday afternoon’s deadline.
Since three of those moves involved previously injured players, the Kansas City Star’s Herbie Teope reported just three Chiefs began Tuesday’s practice on the sidelines.
Chiefs have a relatively full house on the field for this morning’s practice. Team is back in pads after shells yesterday.
Only Kyle Long (knee), Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (hand) and rookie DL Malik Herring (knee) off to side in the rehab area.

Offensive guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif remained out of practice with a hand injury. Offensive lineman Kyle Long and undrafted rookie linebacker Malik Herring remain on the team’s preseason injured lists with knee issues.
This also means that undrafted rookie linebacker Riley Cole — who suffered a sprained ankle in Saturday night’s preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers — was back on the practice field. With the exception of McGuire, all of the players dinged up in that game are now back to work with the team.
