The NFL has fined the Dallas Cowboys for violations during OTAs

The Cowboys allegedly broke the rules.

We are now officially in the month of July which means that if your favorite NFL team is making news that it might not necessarily be for a good reason.

Such was the case for the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday afternoon. In the immediate aftermath of the reports of the Washington Football Team being fined $10M following a workplace review of their franchise, the league also handed out some fines with regards to OTAs.

There were three teams who found themselves punished for these particular violations. The San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Dallas Cowboys all allegedly did something incorrect during OTAs.

This is actually the second time this offseason that the 49ers were penalized like this. Back in June they were docked a week of rookie development for having contact going on when it wasn’t supposed to be. The rules within the CBA are outlined very clearly for these types of things.

Mike McCarthy has long talked about the details of the NFL rule book in his press conferences, but it appears as if something went overlooked. For what it’s worth, the Cowboys declined to comment according to the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

As of now the exact infraction remains unknown, but we will update this post when more information becomes available.
