Kendrick Perkins predicts Titans will win Super Bowl this season

Perkins knows what a championship-caliber team looks like.

After having been part of a championship team during his NBA career, former center and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins knows what a championship-caliber team looks like.

And apparently he sees that in the Tennessee Titans after the team acquired wide receiver Julio Jones in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this week, a move that was widely lauded as a good one.

During a spot on ESPN’s “First Take” Perkins predicted that the Titans would win the Super Bowl this year because of their three-headed monster that includes Jones, wide receiver A.J. Brown, and running back Derrick Henry.

“I have the Tennessee Titans winning the Super Bowl. You know why? Because they have a three-headed monster in A.J. Brown, Derrick Henry, Julio Jones, and a Pro-Bowler quarterback in Tannehill. Tell me who’s going to stop this offense? They’re going to average 50 on people a game.”

Inject this straight into our veins. Perkins might have just become Nashville’s favorite former NBA player after this prediction.

The acquisition of Jones no doubt puts Tennessee’s previously elite offense on a different level, as defending Jones, Brown and Henry all at the same time seems nearly impossible.

If the Titans’ defense can at least improve and be a good complement to the offense in 2021, Perkins’ prediction could very well come to fruition.
