Pick your Chicago Bears defensive triplets

Atlanta Falcons v Chicago Bears

This article was inspired by a Tweet from our social media liaison, TJ Starman, which was inspired by a recent episode of Bears Over Beers, which I just happened to be a guest on, so I’m feeling the WCG synergy on this one.

Which Chicago Bears threesome are you picking, team Navy, team Orange, or team White?

TEAM NAVY

  • Khalil Mack, EDGE - Three Pro Bowls with the Bears, 30 sacks in his three seasons, and a likely first ballot Hall of Famer.
  • Danny Trevathan, LB - In his four years in Chicago he has averaged nearly 100 tackles per season.
  • Charles Tillman, CB - Peanut’s 36 interceptions is third all-time n Chicago history, but he leads the franchise with 42 forced fumbles and 9 defensive TDs.

TEAM ORANGE

  • Julius Peppers, EDGE - Pep played a dominating 4 years in Chicago with 3 Pro Bowl appearances, 37.5 sacks, 18 passes defended, 3 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles and 7 fumble recoveries.
  • Roquan Smith, LB - Smith is just scratching the surface on his career, but his stat filling 2020 earned him a 2nd-Team All-Pro nod.
  • Jaylon Johnson, CB - Another young Bear with his best years ahead of him, Johnson had 15 passes defended in his 13 games a year ago.

TEAM WHITE

  • Adewale Ogunleye, EDGE - Wale’s 42 Chicago sacks is tied for 5th all-time, and his 57 QB hits is third.
  • Brian Urlacher, LB - There wasn’t anything that ‘Lach, a first ballot Hall of Famer, couldn’t do on defense for the Bears, as he thrived to two very different schemes.
  • Kyle Fuller, CB - Fuller’s 82 passes defensed is 4th all-time in Chicago, and he made 2 Pro Bowl and a 1st-Team All-Pro during his time with the Bears.

And just because it didn’t fit as the header photo, I wanted to share this pic that I found featuring three players mentioned above.
