The New England Patriots are now on the second leg of their three game preseason tour around the NFC East.

Last week, the Patriots were able to —literally— run away from the Washington Football Team late in the fourth quarter, pulling off a 22-13 victory in Foxborough. Tonight, they meet the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, capping off a week where the two squads got awfully familiar with each other during a couple of joint practice sessions. Of course preseason is a time for growth, where teams will tighten up the playbooks and focus on the fundamentals of their systems, but those joint practices should help bring a little more juice to Thursday night’s festivities.

The bulk of the focus will again be on Cam Newton and Mac Jones, as their competition for the starting quarterback spot is still on. There are, however, a few new storylines sprinkled into the mix. Finding out how Devin Asiasi can handle the responsibility of being the lone tight end, and seeing how N’Keal Harry can build on his strong week are just a couple of the things to keep an eye on.
