We’re counting down the days until the Panthers kick off the 2021 season.

We’re 92 days away from the Carolina Panthers 2021 season opener, so that means today’s countdown piece is devoted to No. 92 on the roster — defensive tackle Caraun Reid.

The 29-year-old Reid was originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played his college ball at Princeton, where he earned all conference honors three times and third team all american honors his junior year.

After an uneventful rookie season that saw 12 games and only two tackles for Reid, he showed a little playmaking ability in 14 games (12 starts) his sophomore season as he notched 29 tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. He was waived by the Lions after the preseason of the following year. He has since spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers, Lions again, Washington Football Team, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, and Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Panthers this offseason.

With the additions made to the defensive tackle position via free agency and the NFL Draft, Reid will likely have to have a fantastic camp and preseason to stick on the Panthers roster. He only signed a one year deal with the team and could be someone the team cuts but keeps in touch with in case of injuries.
