Gotta be better than last week, right?

We are less than half an hour away from the kickoff of Preseason Game #2 at U.S. Bank Stadium, where the Minnesota Vikings will play host to the Indianapolis Colts. This will be the last time that the Vikings have a home game until Week 3 of the regular season, and with most of the starters getting at least some time tonight, we can only hope that tonight’s game is a lot more enjoyable than whatever that was last week.

Here’s everything that you need to know about tonight’s contest.

Time: Saturday, 21 August, 7:00 PM Central time

Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Television coverage: Numerous local affiliates around the Midwest (which you can see right here), NFL Network replay at 3:30 AM on Monday morning.

Radio coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius and XM Channel 380, SiriusXM App Channel 820

Line: LOL no

Chris’ Prediction:

Three Keys

1) No significant injuries – As always, this is the most important aspect of any preseason game

2) How do the first-teamers look? – The Vikings didn’t play anyone of any real importance in last week’s game against Denver, and it showed, with the backups getting smoked up and down the field by the Broncos’ starters. We’ll finally get a look at the starters on both offense and defense tonight, and hopefully we’ll be happy with what we see.

3) Can the backups bounce back? – A lot of the second and third-team players looked a bit rough last week, which is a little scary given the issues that the Vikings had with injuries last season. Hopefully, now that some of the rust has been knocked off, some of the players that had bad outings last week will get an opportunity to redeem themselves in the battle for some of those spots at the bottom of the depth charts.

There you go, folks. . .we’ll fire up another Open Thread for the second half of this one, and we hope you’ll join us as we follow along with the action. Again, I’ll be following via SiriusXM since I can’t see the game, but those of you that can actually see it can feel free to provide whatever inputs you can.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
