Billy-Johnson shines once again.

The Dallas Cowboys resumed practice for their training camp this year. There was good news like fifth-round rookie Caelen Carson making plays all over the field, and Tyler Guyton taking snaps with the first team. On a sad note, Sam Williams left practice with a leg injury and will need further evaluation.

The show continues on even with injures, and the players at the bottom of the roster must work to impress, especially the undrafted free agents. Over the long days of the summer at training camp, consistency is critical to warranting the consideration of the coaches. Today’s undrafted star of the day continued his winning ways this week.

Making his second appearance in this series this week, receiver Tyron Billy-Johnson had his best day of camp. Without CeeDee Lamb in the picture, Billy-Johnson has been getting more opportunities to show what he can do. Today, playing with the first-team offense, he made the most of his targets from quarterback Dak Prescott.

Against Carson, who was having an excellent day, Billy-Johnson got open for a long touchdown. Isolated one-on-one with no safety help, the receiver hauled in a long pass down the right sideline for a big play.

The top of the Cowboys receiver depth chart is mainly set with Jalen Brooks pushing for the fourth receiver. However, further down the roster a window could be opened for Billy-Johnson. If he can translate these performances into the preseason, things will be very interesting for the team’s 53-man roster.
